How do you know it's going to hurt?

Sorry to ask that, but often when we expect something to happen ... it does ... so it's great to turn negative thoughts into positive ones ... and then you can look forward to more things in life!

I bet you're doing really well for only a week! Make sure you keep well hydrated, use wax generously and keep your oral hygiene A1.

I've got an adjustment tomorrow ... can't wait! The gap over my impacted canine is being held closed with a tight power chord ... for the first time in my life ... this gap is closed. I so looking forward to seeing how excited my ortho is when he looks closely at the work he did last time I had chair time. Even though I work with my ortho daily, we don't discuss my treatment. I know this must sound funny to many people, but I work for three very professional ortho's and when it's a patients time to be the centre of their attention, that's the way it is. When they're not working with patients, they're doing paper work, organising treatment plans ... etc etc etc. So my chair time is when it happens for me!

Here's to week two going well for you!

The achwires used today are not the same as those used 10 years ago. The brackets are shaped in better ways to prevent so much irritation ... etc etc etc.

This is my first time with braces ... and I'm so grateful for my ortho, as I've been basically pain free for over four years ... and that really helps this treatment. My ortho is very upbeat and picks you up if you make negative comments ... which has helped many of his patients. It also makes him a great person to work with ... as positivity (a bit like smiling) does rub off on those around you!

Great you can feel movement so soon ... that's amazing!

My appointment was a big one. Both archwires were removed with bends being adjusted and changed etc. I also got new purple powerchains on both arches ... and I'm to continue with the same tiny elastics.

I've had no discomfort ... which is kinda not what I expected ... but it's good ... all good!

I am really happy with my ortho I have now (he takes the time to explain things to me & exactly what will happen & why) its the same ortho ofc I had before but now he has a new dr in there with him (he has 3 offices) he is the absolute best!

Fantastic that you're so happy with your choice ... that should help how you feel about your treatment, as trust is really important.

    Good luck!
