Hello all! My apologies for not posting the pics as I mentioned in my prior blog. I had my ligs/powerchains taken out on Friday and I'm now in binds (top and bottom). Please correct me if I got that term wrong. My ortho told me she's keeping tabs on my midlines. So far everything seems and looks great! Countdown time is nearing and I'm so excited I'm still on elastics (same pattern mentioned in my last blog). My ortho estimated October for de-banding. However depending my progress it may be earlier/later than that.

Your progress sounds like it's continuing to go great silvermist!

What is binds? It's a term I've never heard over here, so we probably have another name for this.

Good luck with things going well for an early release!

Sunny, what I meant to say is that the wires are coiled around the archwire, thus no ligature is needed. I'll post pics up soon to show you what I mean. My ortho said this procedure is to "close the gaps" I'm still not sure what is the actual term for it but I will find out when I do =)

I think that's like what we call lacing ... it's used when the gaps are closed (usually after using powerchains) and the teeth are where they need to be in relation to each other on the horizontal plane. The ortho uses wire like you'd lace-up shoes, and winds it under and over, until the teeth that are in this position are laced together. Often elastics are still used, as these teeth may need to be moved, but moved as a group.

Thanks for the explanation and here's to it working well for you!
