Hey guys! I'm officially back from my summer vacation even though I did manage to keep my blog updated Well since i got back I had my 4th adjustment last Friday.. [didn't see an ortho while I was on vacay]. I finally got my wires changed & I put pink ligatures once again. Next time I'll try out the clear ones . So far everything is going well.. I have seen A LOT of progress over the past 6 ½ months *see pics attached*

Hope you had a great summer vacation, silvermist . DId the wire change hurt? I like the pink! My advice: The clear ones aren't bad. Well I don't eat curry or any of the foods notorious for staining clear ligatures. But they do yellow a little bit even if you avoid all the foods that stain. But it isn't that noticeable (well it's not like I stare at my mouth all the time lol). Your teeth look great!

Hey mariah no the wire change did not hurt although one tooth did hurt a lot afterwards (even until this day lol) bcoz my ortho spent a little more time replacing a bracket that fell off sometime ago.. since then it's been hard to chew easily on my right side. But it's beginning to wear off little by little

Great that your progress is moving along so well Silvermist!

It's also good you've barely noticed the new archwires and your comfort level is good. Sounds like the tooth that was rebracketed is making progress ... good news.

I had an ortho appointment today ... and I've got to admit the new elastic on the left, and I suspect the many bends in both archwires (these are my third archwires in over three years) ... are probably to blame for the little discomfort I've got, but eating is still a breeze ... here's hoping I feel the same tomorrow!

Clear ligs are okay, as long as you don't eat foods with yellow and red dyes in them. They will yellow naturally without these staining foods, but in my mouth they turned canary yellow after one spicy curry. I eat curries several times a week ... so I'm never going back to clear or white or any light colours again. Many Chinese dishes also discolour clear and white, as can foods with a variety of tomato sauces/flavourings. To name but a few.

Here's to your progress continuing to go well.
