Hey guys! just some brief info about my adjustment.

I got purple ligs instead of the clear I didn't wanna risk having to watch what I eat to avoid staining, etc. Well my ortho told me that my progress is going great *woohoo* she also mentioned to me that she was going to put new wires? I wasn't sure what she meant bcoz I did get new wires on my last visit. She was being humorous sayin that I've had it "easy" soo I'm anxious to find out what's gonna happen... any ideas? :rolleyes

Cool! I like the purple! Your teeth look great!

Your teeth are looking great ... and purple is an easy colour to wear as it doesn't stain, although some brands fade, but that's not a huge issue.

Another new wire ... your teeth must be progressing fast. Maybe it's a different type of wire for you next time. If your alignment is completed and your bite is looking good, you maybe going stainless steel, or maybe a square instead of a round ... whatever, it sounds like a change and progress ... both are good!

The new wires hurt for me both the first and second time they were changed (one before I had braces for a year and and the second in July).

I've only had two wire changes (except for going back to a smaller wire one time), and neither caused any discomfort.

At my last appointment, four bends where put in my my archwire (which I've had for 2 years and 5 months) ... and this was the first time I've had discomfort. I increased the warm salt water rinses and it was gone within a couple of days. Plus it didn't stop me from eating as I usually do ... but I could definitely feel the change!

I guess wire changes they hurt for a few people, but not for most. Plus some changes might hurt more than others.

Good luck ... be positive ... as this is all about you achieving your new bite and smile!

thnks for the info guys. i have my next app on nov. 21st so whatever it is i'll be sure to mention it on my next blog. speaking of which.. i've recently noticed sort of a "lopsided" progress on my left side [i don't know if u can see it from the 1st pic i attached] i forgot to ask my ortho about this. i wear my elastics at night [as recommended] on my left side only & i know that's the reason that's making it seem "slanted" if u may. my concern is: is this normal?

Silvermist talk to your ortho about your concerns. These types of changes usually are totally nothing to worry about and all part of the 'it often gets worse, before it gets better' type progress.

    Good luck on 21 November!
