Tonight I had a little mishap :( As I was cleaning my retainers (lower) all I heard was *snap* Yep you guessd it... a crack right down the middle... this is not good news! Luckily, I have my first check up (since my debonds) this Friday - May 7th. Since it's my lowers, I don't think I'll be needing to have them replaced since I was scheduled to have linguals. But I MUST have my widsom teeth extracted first. Hmm... I'm gonna wait it out until Friday & hear what my ortho has to say about this. Until then I'm currently wearing my uppers... :D

Hello all. Last week I got my first post braces cleaning, but I was told I should come back in three months to get another cleaning before I get my linguals (bottom). However, after reviewing my x-ray results, my ortho advised me that I would have to get my 2 bottom wisdom tooth extracted! *ouch* I'm really not looking forward to this, but it's definitely something I have to do very soon. I am scheduled to meet with my ortho on May 7th for my post braces check up. After this, I will get more of an insight.

They're finally off, hello beautiful smile of mine :D I've had it removed today & I must say the process was such an ease! I had minor discomfort when my ortho was taking off the glue & polishing my teeth, but it was over in a jiffy & I felt fine after that. I took x-rays, photos and impressions after my debonds. I was assigned to essix retainers (top + bottom*) My ortho recommended that I get linguals on my lower front teeth, so I will have to go back *after my teeth cleaning* to get them placed but for now I'm currently fitted in my essix! It feels weird at first, especially now that my speech is a little slurred but hopefully I get over this in less than a week! I will post pictures very soon!

Note: The bottom tooth is basically the problem tooth. As you can see it's rotated, and my ortho has been trying to get this sucker back to it's rightful position :D If you look closely the wire is slightly bent upwards (my ortho did this in order to help the process of straightening.) I haven't seen much of a progress on that bottom tooth, but I guess I'll have to hear what my ortho has to say on Friday. Wish me luck! :p

My debonds has been pushed back due to one little tooth :( (my bottom left lateral incisor). In my last adjustment she had that one tooth raised a little and is now in the process of getting to where it needs to be ;). I got my powerchains (top) replaced as well as the bottom with new wires. She also changed my patterns in wearing my elastics to verticals (canine to canine) on both sides to close down my bite. I will post pics so the idea of what I just said would make more sense lol. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't getting my braces removed today but I know I would've been even MORE disappointed if they were removed & I weren't completely happy with my results. So my countdown is back on again...
