I haven't been keeping up with my blog on here but I had my 6th ortho appt today. He made a lot of changes and I left feeling very optimistic and excited about my treatment.

The wires stayed the same but he put in a coil to close make the gap where my implant will go the correct size. He removed the TAD which was very exciting because that was a pain to keep clean. He put some wires to hold my bottom front teeth in place in a crisscross pattern (not sure what this is called) and finally I now have a box elastic on my right side to close the gap between my top and bottom teeth.

It was exciting to have so much done in one appointment. I was more excited when my sister told me that she heard that elatics were used near the end of treatment. I am not sure how true that is but either way, I love see ing the progress! Thank you all for reading this and for posting your own experiences, they are very encouraging!

Your appointment sounds amazing ... great that your teeth are doing so well!

Elastics can be used from day one to the final day of your treatment ... it depends on what the elastics are being used for.

Box elastics are sometimes used near the end of treatment, if it's about finalising and holding your bite. Of course 'near the end of your treatment' can be an interesting time to put a 'date' on ... it might be the final three or four months, or it could be the final year or longer.

Here's hoping your treatment will end sooner rather than later ... good luck! ;thumb:
