I got my spacers removed and molar bands put on today. Very interesting I would rather have my spacers back. lol Well either way they are huge and have some like tubes on them and some other fingers that are tearing me up even with wax. Why aren't they smaller and have fewer sharp objects on them?

I've never had molar bands and we don't use them, but I've seen them on patients who've transferred from other ortho's. I believe that they can take a little time to adjust to, but the area will toughen and you'll soon forget you have them.

The most important stuff now is to keep well hydrated and to cover anything that's rubbing with wax, so that the cheek area toughens without sores developing. The tubes and the hooks may need a good layer of wax to prevent rubbing.

Rinsing with warm salt water can soothe your mouth and help it feel better.

    Good luck!

Will do, I was well adjusted to the braces before they put these gnarly shards of metal in there, he told me that he really didn't want to put them on and that they never use them unless it is a surgery case because the surgeon for some reason will not do surgery unless you have bands. But would you happen to know what these tubes are for there is also a set of hooks on the inside of them as well as hooks and tubes on the outside.
