Well it is Tuesday and I just got back from getting my first set of trays. I was in and out of the ortho office within 30 minutes. They showed me how to put them in and take them out. It is actually very easy, no problems so far. I have done it on my own with no problems. However, in two weeks I go back to my ortho and I will have the attachments put on at that time. From what I can tell I will possibly have 12...3 on each side, top and bottom. I am a little nervous about what it will be like with the attachments, but I'm sure it will be find once I get adjusted. Once I have the attachments put on, on the 17th, I will wear tray 1 for one more week. They are going to give me several trays at that visit though. I will have 21 trays; which is a bit more than I anticipated, but that's okay.

I wore the trays from the ortho office and back to work, then I took them out to have lunch (all with ease). I only had them in for an hour before taking them out for lunch and to my surprise it felt more comfortable with them in. It may be the way I am holding my mouth that is making it all more comfortable with them in since I have TMJ. TMJ causes my jaw to hurt often and I clench a lot so I typically have a lot of discomfort and within this short amount of time I feel some relief. I do however feel pressure on the teeth that I know are the main issues, but nothing unbearable...just reminds me I have something in my mouth. One of my main concerns about getting the trays was that it may cause me to talk funny at first. I have talked to many friends on the phone and no one has noticed anything different.

Well I probably won't post again until I get my attachments in two weeks or I may give a small update on my feelings towards invisalign once I have had them for a few days.

It's fantastic that you're feeling so good Stacy!

Lauralea attachments are used to help the aligners make more specific tooth movements.
