Well, I've been in braces for about 3 1/2 months now and when I woke up this morning, I noticed something amazing. My cross bite is totally gone!! I mean, it's perfect now. I haven't had bands or anything. I guess straightening my teeth was enough to allow my jaw to close correctly! Now if I could only get rid of my open bite so I could close it all the way...
Well, today marked my third adjustment. The appointment itself was pretty average, but the pain afterward? Not so much... I did finally get the stupid springs off! My gaps were just big enough to merit taking them off. Thank goodness. I was getting really sick of them pinching my lips. But now that the springs are off, they decided to give me an arch wire that is "significantly stronger" than any other wire I've had yet. Hurt like crazy considering I had JUST gotten them on to begin with. ...
So, I'm new here. I'm 19 and finally over my crippling fear of all things dental. I'm getting a full set of Damon's this Tuesday. I'm just wondering if people really like them as much as my ortho lets on I'm really excited to finally have a nice smile. I've got a skeletal open bite, so it's gonna take about three years to fix everything. But I'm hoping it will be worth it. So, anyways...Hi! This is my before smile: (bleh! ) Let it be noted that this is ...
