So, I got my Damon's on yesterday. It went well, although the nurse who did it was new and didn't really know what she was doing... She had to keep having the doctor look over what she was doing. Before I even put my car in drive after cranking it, a bracket popped loose. hard! So I went back in and she took the wire off of that entire side of my mouth (it was in the front), glued the bracket back on, then rewired them all! Hurt like crazy considering I had JUST gotten them on to begin with. But she got it back on and I went to class. Right as I walked in the room, another bracket popped off!! but I couldn't get them to fix it because they close at 4:30 and this happened at about 4:45...

So I had to wait until today to have it fixed. Waiting was torture! Where it didn't have bands, the bracket kept flipping around the wire and cutting my lip. I put wax on it, but by the time I did it was too late.

I got a different nurse when I went to have the second one fixed. She did great. Didn't have to completely rework the wire to attach it again. And she hardly hurt even though my teeth are their most sore right now. So high-fives to her.
So now the inside of my lip is sore, but I can't believe how much more comfortable the braces are when the brackets are all actually attached.

So, hoping my lip will get better soon. but other than that, I'm good as of right now!

aww, that sounds like a terrible experience getting them on!

Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out!

Don't be shy with the wax, and do lots of warm salt water rinses. You'll be used to them in no time!

    Great your treatment has started!

Make sure you use the wax generously and only remove it when you brush. Also rinsing with warm salt water can help. Remember to keep well hydrated, as this helps your mouth and your body.

Hopefully you'll adjust quickly and you'll be feeling as great as you usually do within a few days!

Thanks guys! They're feeling a lot better now. It's still a little hard to eat some things, but at least I can eat real food again Plus I swear my eye teeth have come down a little bit! WOOT
