Just want to keep my blog posted. I got my top and bottom braces put on, on September 28, 2011.
I chose to go with Damon Q, just the fact that they don't use elastic bands and they suppose to have less friction.
They didn't hurt the first 4-5 hours, but I can definitely feel the pressure in my mouth.
They started to hurt afterward but pain killer will be your best friend the first couple of days after braces were put on.

I got my braces on a year ago. Throughout the past year I've been coming into the office in between my scheduled appointments (I'm friends with my technician) and she has really sped things along for me. I was in elastics from March-September. He said my bite is fine. Last time I went in he changed my ties and said, "You're done with elastics see you in 6 weeks." Then I came in today and he changed my ties and said, "Everything's looking great, see you in 6 weeks." ...

Waterpik?

First, I've been gone a while because the hubby came for a visit, we're going through immigration and I'm writing a book (not mine, but my name will be on it), so I've been really busy but I haven't forgotten you all!

Well, I had this idea that a waterpik wasn't necessary, and then I bought one and was hooked. It was absolutely necessary for me (with the crowding and whatnot) but I was only able to experience it for all of a month until it was murdered ...

It's day 11 and the overall pressure is pretty much gone. My teeth are still sore on my front teeth, so biting down hurts slightly. But I have learned how to chew better with the cement bite blocks in, so I can expand my palette to soft meats and pastas I have lost some weight, but I'm too afraid to go on the scale to prove that fact lol. I kind of miss the pain. It made me feel that the braces are doing work and not just sitting in my mouth doing nothing.

So today I got my braces put on, it was a long process, it felt like it would never end.
My mouth felt okay at first and now i'm really uncomfortable, I feel like I have some huge pieces of metal sticking right out of my mouth, and they're already cutting the insides of my cheeks.
I like how the top six are clear, I can hardly see them, they're amazing =O I didn't think they would be that clear, but I love them.
So anyways, my teeth already feel like they're moving, whenever ...

I just got fitted with these spacers yesterday, they commented on how tight my teeth are and it might be 'a little painful'.
I've hardly eaten since yesterday, I have to take Ibruprofen every few hours, and i'm in so much pain.
All of my teeth on the top row are tender, can't wait to get these out of my teeth.

Oh and I get my braces on the 8th, one week today.
I'm getting the Damon clear on the top 6 and Damon metal on the ...

top jaw is too small and I have to get surgery soon to break my top jaw in half, its called SARPE which stands for Surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion.

i have my expander and braces in right now, they have been on for 4 days, but there aint wires on the top until after surgery

Just wondering if anyone has been through the same thing, and if they could tell me their experience

So, the first week in braces is coming to the end. Its actually been a very normal week, other than my appointment to get my braces on. I have managed to really adjust to my braces to the point that I forget I have them which is great!

I also started school again yesterday and out of all my classes and friends all of 2 people realized I had braces on, which I'm also very happy about. So for anyone who is skeptical about getting braces for ascetics reasons, go for the ceramic ...
