I got my braces on a year ago. Throughout the past year I've been coming into the office in between my scheduled appointments (I'm friends with my technician) and she has really sped things along for me. I was in elastics from March-September. He said my bite is fine. Last time I went in he changed my ties and said, "You're done with elastics see you in 6 weeks." Then I came in today and he changed my ties and said, "Everything's looking great, see you in 6 weeks." ...

I haven't been keeping up with my blog on here but I had my 6th ortho appt today. He made a lot of changes and I left feeling very optimistic and excited about my treatment.

The wires stayed the same but he put in a coil to close make the gap where my implant will go the correct size. He removed the TAD which was very exciting because that was a pain to keep clean. He put some wires to hold my bottom front teeth in place in a crisscross pattern (not sure what this is called) and finally ...

So today was the day that I got my braces. First things first, everyone that said the spacers were the worst part were right. What they didn't tell you about were the molar bands. Now, everyone doesn't have to get molar bands and if you are one of those lucky ones, say an extra prayer tonight. They hurt, but it is temporary because the bands are smaller than the spacers, but if your teeth are sore from the spacers, it sucks. The good news is that once they find the size, they will glue them ...
