I can't believe i'm updating my blog again to say that I'm now 4 days into my 5th set of aligners! YAY!! Oh, also, 17th May marked my 2 month Invisalign "anniversary". Just another 9.5 months to go for this initial round, and then hopefully i'll be happy with the end result so I can start my retainer wear.

Anyways, allow me to update you on the latest and greatest with my Invisalign journey...

I went back to the ortho on Tuesday, and the first thing my ortho ...

  2. Invisalign - Tray 4

    by , 05-06-2012 at 08:58 AM
    Hi folks!

I went back to the ortho on Tuesday to go for my bi-weekly progress check up and to get my 4th set of trays fitted. I can hardly believe I'm already on my 4th set! Before Invisalign, I thought 2 weeks was a long time, but now, 2 weeks seems to fly by. My appointment lasted all of 10 minutes, which is a good thing in my books. And the most exciting thing happened....after I removed my 3rd aligners, my ortho checked my teeth, and he said that he can already see that my ...

  3. Invisalign - Tray 3

    by , 04-23-2012 at 03:10 PM
So, I am 6 days into my tray 3's and so far so good. The first day was pretty painful as there was a lot of pressure on my top teeth in particular, so I resorted to taking an Ibuprofen. The pain did subside after the first day, so that's a relief. The trays are really easy to remove now, so I guess that's a good sign that my teeth have shifted into their latest positions. I'm still being incredibly compliant and wearing my aligners for 23 hours (sometimes a little more) a day.

    I'm ...
  4. Tray #3

    by , 02-08-2012 at 11:41 AM
Not nearly as painful as Tray #2. This one felt tight and there was pressure last night when I put it on. This morning my mouth was sore but now its 10:40am and I feel like I've been wearing them the whole week. Even when I took them out for breakfast it wasn't nearly as painful as taking out tray 2. Yay for less pain.

In two weeks I go in for my cleaning and get my next 3 trays.

  5. Freaked out

    by , 02-02-2012 at 04:28 AM
Hello! So I REALLY need to start this blog because I don't think I can go through this otherwise! Reading the stories of others is so encouraging and makes me feel so much better about going through this... I know it had to be done, buy MY GOD is it painful or what! I've had braces before when I was 12 years old and nothing came out of it 'cause I moved countries and my parents were too scared to take FOUR of my teeth out to make the room in my mouth... So I just aimlessly walked around with METAL ...
  6. Green Tea for your teeth protection!

    by , 12-23-2011 at 04:32 AM
Having healthy and strong teeth is the desired by all persons. Teeth are meant to last us for our lifetime. To ensure we have clean and white teeth, we look for ways such as using the best toothpaste products, mouth cleansers, dental flosses, and rinsing agents.

One of the main concerns about the health of your teeth is plaque. Plaque is the invisible masses of harmful germs that live in the mouth and stick on the teeth. The longer the plaque stays on your teeth, the more damage they ...
  7. First Days

    by , 11-27-2011 at 01:31 AM
I got my first invisalign trays on Friday finally!

My first thoughts are that it's not too bad so far. There is a bit of pain when putting them in / taking them out. Also a slight bit of pain while eating. I have been waiting until I am absolutely starving until I eat just to not have to take them off... I am yet to see what it's like to be at work with these on, so that could be fairly trying. I am not looking forward to brushing my teeth at work, but I guess it will get less awkward ...

  8. Finally The Time Has Come!

    by , 10-15-2011 at 02:20 AM
After four loooooong months it's finally time for my initial invisalign appointment!! I go in on Monday to get all the x-rays, moulds etc done and pay my deposit. I think the deposit is the thing I am most apprehensive of! After Monday there's no backing out, so it's really happening.

I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get my aligners but I'm considering having a pre-invisalign party where I can eat, drink and be merry for the last time without the need for worrying about ...

  10. Terrible few days.

    by , 09-11-2011 at 03:13 PM
okay so the other day when I went to get my attachment fixed it turned out that the attachment never actually made it on my teeth. it got stuck on the template and no one noticed. but they fixed it and it's fine now. that one tooth felt a little tight for about an hour but that's it it hasn't really changed anything.

im really disappointed because in school alot of people have noticed. and I don't really understand why or how. I guess it makes it easier in a sense because now ...

  12. Confusion

    by , 07-01-2011 at 07:55 AM
So I've decided to look around a bit to maybe get a second (or third) opinion on my invisalign treatment and cost. Only thing is that in the process I have become very confused as one dental practice sent me the following:

'I have had a chat to our Orthodontists and they all wanted to know if you have seen and Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon for your TMJ problem? The reason we ask this is that sometimes TMJ pain is due to congenital or degenerative problems. Even if we did ...

  13. Update

    by , 06-17-2011 at 08:04 AM
So today I finally received my treatment plan!

Here's what I learned about my teeth:

    - My front upper and lower teeth are crowded and overlapped
    - My lower left canine tooth is protruded
    - Due to a baby tooth I have collapsed teeth on the lower right side
    - I have a lack of canine guidance meaning that my canines do not touch and therefore my jaw has nothing to guide it in the right directions
    - I have an incorrect bite on the ...

    Hello friends,

The moment I have been waiting for has finally arrived: At 31 years of age, I am now the proud owner of a perfect smile! This isn't just any perfect smile, though...This is a Markham Centre Orthodontics (MCO) smile created by Dr. Tam, his skilled team, and their excellent ability to push the boundary with what can be achieved with Invisalign.

Most of my adult life, I have been very self conscious of my offensive smile; I likened my smile to what you would ...
