Day 1 upper lingual braces

Had lingual braces put on my upper arch today. I am having ceramic braces on the lower arch in about 3 months.

No real pain so far, it takes a bit of gettting used to a mouth full of metal though. I am speaking with quite a lisp today and having trouble eating as everything seems to get stuck in the braces. It all feels a bit strange.

So far I'm very happy with my decision to get lingual braces.

    Great you have your uppers on therazza!

    The 'stuck food' does feel strange, but you will get used to it. Drinking water while you're eating does help. Plus being well hydrated will help your mouth to cope.

    Keep wax nearby, as using it generously will help your tongue to cope with these invaders and hopefully prevent sores while it toughens.

    Good luck with this period of adjusting!
