Full Metal Braces @ 23 Years Old

Today is officially the 4 week mark since I've been wearing braces. I don't really have much to report. Things are going good. I get sore teeth here and there, but I actually like that feeling, cause it reminds me that they are moving. Every day I think about having that perfect bite and smile. I know it's a long way away for me, but I still day dream when my day will come. I have hated my teeth and smile for so long....I can't wait until I forget how horrible my teeth/bite are and actually have to look at pictures to remind me - that is if I choose to be reminded, of course. When someone pulls out a camera, I want to be able to confidently be the first one in the picture with a huge perfect smile yelling, "CHEESE"!

I went in to see my dentist for a cleaning today. Well not my dentist, my hygienist. She is awesome! She can keep a good one sided conversation going like no body's business! I was worried about how I was doing for keeping my teeth clean with the braces on and she told me I have excellent oral hygiene, so that was a relief to hear. I also told her that I am opting to have the jaw surgery done and she was quite excited to hear that. My brother's girlfriend used to work at this particular dental clinic, so I know all the ladies fairly well. They are looking forward to seeing how my surgery and teeth/bite come along. I booked another cleaning and check up for April 15/10. That will be around my 7 month mark in braces and I will have had my consult with the surgeon and will be able to fill them in and show them how much my teeth have progressed.

Here's a couple pictures I took today of my teeth and a couple profiles. I have permanent creases in my face due to my overjet. I hate it...
