Well today has been much better then yesterday. First off, I didn't wake up feeling like someone had hit me in the teeth with a sledge hammer! I have only had to take one Advil today, and that was after brushing my teeth this morning. My teeth are still quite sensitive to pressure, so still sticking to the soft foods. It is very painful to floss, but I suck it up and do it anyway. I am really looking forward to being able to go back to eating like normal again and chewing! I really miss chewing, haha. I have a couple spots where my braces are rubbing on my mouth, but the salt water rinses and wax are doing a good job, so that doesn't bother me much.

Today was wonderful compared to yesterday, so I am pretty happy about that. I know it will only keep getting better and once I start seeing results I am going to be even more excited about my treatment. This forum has a lot of good information and really prepared me for getting my braces put on and I am very thankful for that!

Happy Smiling!

Great to read how well things are going!

It's great that you're taking such good care of your mouth Trigger, it really does make life easier! Keep practising chewing ... it will get easier, but it does take a bit of practising. Chewing is also good for sensitivity ... as it increases the blood flow in your gums.

    Take care!

I had adult braces last year at age 53 to close up a gap. The first few days were definitely the hardest - I did the salt-water rinses about 9x/day and that really helped. You can find more ideas for soft foods at the website of the American Association of Orthodontists, at Recipes (never mind it says just for kids - it has all sorts of meal ideas).
