Not a ton of new stuff to say, as I've only been here a day LOL, but I did want to have a blog entry to my name so I could feel truly accomplished!

I have an ortho appointment on Friday, which will be my first since Dec. 3 when I had these new screw-type things added to my braces. Sorry I don't know the official name. Screw-type things is the best way the ortho knew how to describe them, so that's all I've got.

The reason for them is that after so many months of no movement, they decided that my teeth may be just too stubborn to be moved with braces alone. So they added these things, plus a rubber band, which they said would actually rotate the roots of the teeth and pull them out into a better position. The ortho and two assistants all guaranteed that I'd see a huge improvement by Christmas. YAY! I actually left the office that day feeling kinda positive, which I usually don't..

My top teeth (especially the two fronts) hurrrrttttt for several days after that visit, which I took as a good sign that the roots were turning as they should be, BUT, after about a week that pain went away and nothing else happened. It's been one month now and everything's still the same. Grrr...

I can't say I'm not disappointed, after hearing them so sure of this only to have it not work, just like every other adjustment I've had so far. But maybe this Friday they'll at last find a solution (yeah right, I've been saying that every visit since the beginning!)

Talk to your ortho and then consult with some more!

If the roots of your teeth have progressed, you may not see this ... but you should still be seeing loads of progress in nine months!

Take responsibility for your treatment! Good luck!
