Soo I've had funky teeth since as far back as I can remember...add coke bottle glasses and no sense of style and I didn't have a chance in jr. high. I did get contacts eventually and learned the art of having friends dress me, which helped significantly! But I have always been super self conscience of my teeth. Especially in a society that bases so much of your self worth on your smile! Think about it! Go look back at all the great celebrities of the last century and then look at them today, everyone of them has had a smile makeover! No I know my self worth should not be placed on my smile. I also know I'm sick of not feeling up to my full potential because I shy away when someone with better teeth comes along and flashes their perfect smile at the guy I was flirting with-I'm worth it too dang it! Anyway...SO I had my impressions taken yesterday! I actually went in last Feb for my consultation, but I had a few fillings I had to get replaced. I lived in Scotland and got them over there but the dentist was apparently just out if dentist school or was high because he did a crap job on my fillings. So I had to get them replaced and have a cleaning before I got my invisalign and since I'm paying everything in cash, upfront, out of pocket...it took awhile! But finally the day came! I only got a few hrs of sleep because I was so stinking excited! So first they took a mold of my teeth using the goop which wasn't too bad...THEN, they took me to the room with the brand new ioc scanner where my digital impressions were taken!! It was so cool! The tech just ran the scanner wand over my teeth and my teeth popped up on the screen. The entire thing took about 15 mins. The only thing that was uncomfortable was when she had to get my wisdom teeth and the wand was pressing against my jaw joint...that wasn't too pleasent but it was only for a few seconds. Now its being sent to invisalign and I have my appt to get them on...Valentine's Day! I know that's significantly shorter time than back in the olden days(last month) but I have been waiting for this for soooo long I am so excited I can't stand it!! Welp I guess I'll update more when they come in or I have a mental breakdown from lack of patience...it is definately a virtue that I do not possess.
