I'm having a brilliant week, sun is shining, tray 19 is a dream, no pain at all, hardly wearing the bottom tray at all, was told to try keep it out for 12 hours and use it as a retainer at night - its going well now doing this where it hurt a few weeks ago.

Anyways.....I've found somthing I cant do when wearing the aligners.......wrap up presents! The other day I was wrapping a baby gift for a friend when i discovered I cant rip the sellotape with the aligners in! Mad eh? They dont have a shapr enough edge like my naked teeth has, so I'd to resort to scissors, most annoying! Hope i've no aligners in at Christmas time, wrapping prezzies will take twice as long.
I remember reading about swimming and diving not being good as the chlorine or salt water gets into the trays and even spitting out the water theres some left in the tray tasting horrid (will test this on holiday in 3 week time and update you all) Anyone else found odd things hard to do?

    Haha so true!

In my first 6 months of Invisalign (I'm up to tray 18) I had to wear acrylic nails because that was the only way I could manage to get the aligners out. My normal nails were too short to do this...but seeing as I can't bite my nails with them in, they have grown and the problem has been solved!

I have bracket braces, but I've never been able to rip sellotape, or bite my finger nails as my teeth never came together correctly to do that.

The thing that annoys me most is I can't whistle like I used to, and often I want to whistle to my dog and it just doesn't happen properly.

At least I an drink whatever I want, whenever I want ... which is a relief, as I'm a weak tea addict!

Weeeyin we tell people to remove their aligners when swimming in water treated with chlorine, unless it's only going to be for a short time ... like less than 15 minutes and they can rinse their teeth really well after swimming. I can't remember the details, but chlorine is quite a nasty chemical/poison, and not something you'd want being held close to your teeth.

Enjoy your lovely weather ... I'm so envious, as we've just started winter over here, and although we're still in a drought ... it's cold ... really cold. I think today it's forecast to a max of 18C again ... so damn cold!

LOL at this discovery. I never gave thought that people with aligners wouldn't be able to bite into things like they normally do. It's funny what you miss when you can no longer do it.

Haha! I love wrapping presents! Have been tempted to buy one of those tape dispensers that goes on the back of your hand so thats the perfect excuse.

I never thought about the nail biting thing either, I am always nibbling at hang nails....

I never could whistle so no loss there (am not bitter at all that I cant whistle!) :-)
