Well, it's now 2 days since the first set of aligners went on, and it's been an interesting experience so far, and I'm glad to say that I've still not had any major pain as such.

On the first evening, they were a minor annoyance though. I kept sliding the top set on and off my back teeth for relief - kinda like my teeth & gums were itchy.

However, waking up on the first morning with them in was actually fine - in fact I could barely feel them at the front. Still can't unless my tongue touches the edges where they meet my gums.

The desire to grind my molars has subsided, but only because they feel a bit achey, even bruised, when I bite them together.

So I tried to eat some food.

Hmmm, quite tender when chewing with my back teeth. Found that I had to take smaller bites, and softer food was easier. Not sure how much of a recurring issue this will be going forward, but we'll see. Not severe enough to start knocking back the ibuprofen yet, but I have a stash ready & waiting

Yesterday evening, the irritation returned, although not as severe as the first night, but again they were fine by this morning.

The other interesting side effect is that where my teeth usually have a decent amount of saliva on them, the aligners seem to stay pretty dry, which is leaving my lips dry. So I'm drinking more water than usual.

Oh well, onwards!
