Braces on!

So I got the call mid-week to say my aligners had arrived, and today they were fitted. Spent some time in the chair being shown how to slide them on & off, and then had a practice myself.
They're pretty easy to fit right now, but they're gonna add the cement attachments next weekend - this is so I can get a feel for them first.
Appearance-wise, the aligners have transparent bumps which will hook onto the attachment - so that makes them more visible than if I had no attachments.
So how DO they feel?
In one word - Weird. Not being used to anything being on my teeth, they feel pretty out of place. No pain thankfully, or even any discomfort. Natually, there's pressure on the teeth, but that's expected. It's just an unusual presence in my mouth that isn't the norm.
I kinda liken it to the feeling when I was younger and the was a loose tooth that felt wrong, and you were constantly wanting to wiggle it.
I gather that in time I'll become less conscious of them being there. Right now, I know they're there - all the time. On a much more positive note, they haven't given me even the slightest lisp - so I'm very pleased about that.
Let's see what experiences the first week brings...
