I thought that I'd make a big deal out of it and go for a meal that was not braces-friendly, but in the event I just ate pretty much the same as I had been doing with braces. However, my first post-braces ribs were a treat!

    Much the same.

It took me a while to acquire the confidence to bite into corn on the cob but I do it with pleasure now.

Corn on the cob just gunked my brackets up too much to be worth the bother!

You should be fine with smarties. If in doubt, suck them until the outer skin dissolves.

This will likely sound odd, but I already have my post braces snack in the cabinet, and I only got braces on last Monday . I bought some caramels the week before braces to enjoy before braces went on. I could only eat half the bag the full week before, so I am keeping the other half to celebrate getting them off again. Of course they make be hard as rocks by then which means I will toss them and go buy some more.

However, like cellardoor, I am looking forward to apples being okay again. I know I can chop one up and eat it that way, but I want to be able to bite into one again. And pizza is also on my list, this may seem odd to some but it would be nice to actually be able to eat pizza like a normal person, right now my bite is so open I can't bite far enough through pizza to eat it without a knife and fork.

I eat everything I did prior to having braces, with braces, so it won't be a post braces meal for me. Instead it will be the enjoyment of a minimal post braces mouth cleanup that I'm looking forward to!

I'm going to say it'll be SO STRANGE to bite into corn on the cob again! I did that ONCE or TWICE since getting braces on (in July 08), but only because I'm still not braced on the bottom yet, so I used my bottom teeth to bite into the corn, however, Zoso's assessment that they gunk up your braces too much is the reason I've only done it twice (and the fact that it's no longer in seasn..LOL). BUT, that'll be the most "different" thing for me to eat...and I agree it'll take a bit of 'confidence' to do it without thinking I'm going to break my teeth off. HA HA!! However, I have a LOOONG time before my braces will be coming off. I honestly don't even remember what the estimated time was for my braces, but I've only had them on for 6 months at the end of this month so - I've got a loong time yet.

I'm planning on going out for a garden burger post-debanding. It's ridiculously hard to eat one with braces and gets stuck everywhere. :\

I am not a dental professional.

As it says on the main Bracesreview.com page, always consult a qualified orthodontist, dentist, or medical professional with questions you may have.

    Everything

I just got my braces on Friday, June 5th and once they come off in 18 months I'm going to eat everything. I'm in pain right now and have only been able to eat chicken noodle soup and easy mac. So I can't wait to get back to the real food and ohh the nachos and cheese from the movie theatre.

I will bite into an apple and eat a hamburger and REVEL in the fact that it won't 1) break my teeth off, and 2) leave behind 70% of the bun in my brackets. Horray!! 2 months down, about 16 to go...

DEFINITELY corn on the cob, and a caramel apple. Crunch away on some doritos without reserve. Enjoy a piece of sugary gum everyone else is always chewing. Or maybe just a plain apple--I wonder what that feels like. LOL. Candy I could care less about but soda...OMG I drink soda constantly now,and worry about more decalc. but with my braces...OMY!!!!!!!!

Well theres nothing now that I don't eat that I ate before but I look forward to enjoying all my food without worrying about staining or leaving half of the food behind in the brackets, I do bite into stuff now but with most things when I'm out I break it apart so I don't get in such a mess.

Cant wait to bite into a nice juicy KFC or Subway sandwich and eat a curry or spag bol without ending up with horrible coloured bands

    xxx

For food, Id like to eat some corn on the cob and maybe some ribs.

Candy wise (since I'll stay away from that while braces are on)... I'd like some gummy coca cola bottles and caramels.

And I'll be happy when I can simply bite into an apple again, instead of cutting it up!

Just got braces on today, BTW. 16-18 more months of eating differently! Hopefully I can do it! I'm already skinny so I hope I don't lose too much weight.
