When row of teeth is the bonded retainer on.. the lower?
YOu should get used to it.. but if you are hitting it when biting that is a problem...
And am unhappy with the bonded retainer. I think that if I bite down PERIOD I'll break it.
I've got retainers that are like invisalign trays and they cause me to slobber worse then without them.

Now Wearing Retainers At Night!
Hi SouthernGirl and great you're now wearing retainers. :clapping:
There is a period of adjustment with retainers, just as there is with getting any appliance in your mouth.
Your body sounds like it's reacting to the clear retainers, by trying to drown them with saliva ... a natural reaction. This will decrease the more you wear them, which is good.
If you're biting onto your bonded retainer, you need to contact your ortho and have this checked out. Your bite should be your molars meeting ... and that keeps your bonded retainer(s) safe.
Good luck with your lifetime commitment to keeping your teeth retained! :thumb:
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
It wasn't my choice with the bonded retainer... and my dad won't remember what he was told a year and a half ago.
The next new thing I found out is I have no choice with my wisdom teeth...they are going to come out in a couple years.
I hit my bonded retainer hard with my tongue when swallowing at times and I think that loosened it a bit already and its only been one day. If it weren't for the retainer trays I'd probably flip it out when I'm sleeping.
A bonded retainer is an excellent way to keep your teeth straight, without the need for removal retainer wear 24 hours a day. It is important to check it regularly to make sure it remains bonded.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but if it's necessary for you to keep your teeth where they currently are, then it's for the best.
Hopefully you'll adjust to having it quickly.

I have a feeling my dad was told at the consulation about a year and a half ago about this, but he conveniently ignores alot of things he is told, and my mom has a bad memory so she wouldn't know.
2. I only need 10 hour wear both top and bottom from the start and the top doesn't have a bonded one.
