Did you get your braces off earlier than quoted?

My ortho quoted me 18-24 months, but judging by my progression I'm hoping it won't really take that long. Many of my friends who've had braces also said they got theirs off early. Any experiences in here to help get me through these last 8 months or so?

When we talk to the patients we work with who 'graduate' early, mostly they're the people who've done exactly what their ortho's have requested. Hygiene is A1, elastic wear is spot on, no missed appointments etc.

It's great that you're getting close Denise ... just keep doing what you've been doing and hopefully you'll be able to change your 'tickers' before that eight months is up!

I sure hope so! I wear my elastics every second of the day except for when I'm eating (and sometimes even then, if I can eat around them). My teeth are moving at a great pace, I think. I posted updated pics in my blog. I have my next appointment on February 1, and will ask him then what he thinks my estimated time left is.

I was quoted for 18 months and I'm to be getting them off at 13 months...next month! I think the ortho anticipated me needed elastics, which I ended up not needing at all. I didn't need any bite adjustment. It seemed like as soon as my teeth had space, they knew exactly where to go and lined up nicely. A friend of mine, on the other hand was told 18 months and she's going on 2 years now.... SHe's had a lot of trouble with her bite, contraptions breaking on her and gaps not closing.

Hi hun, I was quoted 18 months and the actual time will be 14 months, 4 months is a lot in my book! I think your teeth are like mine, moving at great pace, my Ortho capitalised on that on about my 4th adjustment and said he would "crank things up a bit". I have had power chains and they hurt but they work, no question!
Good luck with your treatment and I hope you graduate early too. xxxx
