So apparently I need to wait a week whilst my retainer is made... is that normal?
I don't really know about this stuff but surely that gives my evil teeth time to shuffle back a bit - not something I want after a year of braces. I'm already worried that the front ones are going a tinee bit crooked after a day, though it's possible I'm just seeing things because I'm worried.
Oh, and here's a before/after pic if anyone is interested:
If anyone is interested, here's my teeth... before and after ... on Twitpic
It's not unusual to have to wait a week or two for retainers to be made by a lab. The retainer is made from the mould when your braces were first removed and as your teeth will not have settled in that time, if they should move, the retainer will make sure they quickly get back to that position and then stay there.
Good luck and here's to a wonderful smile and bite for life!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
Oh okay, thanks!
And yeah, the front tooth is now slightly more infront of the other front tooth on the top jaw. I think it's because I had a tooth extracted on one side and they've all moved round, so naturally one is going to be more centered or something...
Comfort-wise, my teeth have almost settled since I had the braces off at the beginnning of the week. Just trying to brush them whiter now![]()
