    Are you supposed to brush the wires on the Hawleys?

    I brush all parts of my retainers except for the metal wires. Is this the right thing to do? However, I feel that if I don't brush the wires, then nasty gunk will settle on the wires.

    Brush gently with a soft toothbrush. We recommend using water or liquid soap.
    After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
