    Unhappy help !

Hi, my name is Virginia and I just had my braces off Tuesday after 4 years !

I've been put on fixed retainers, both up and down and received Essix retainers which I am using around 20hrs out of 24.

Problem is this morning (when I took retainers off to clean/wash etc) I saw that my 2nd tooth up on the left has moved slightly but visibly leaving a clear gap ! And that MOVE happened over night with ALL retainers on....

How is that possible as I am both on fixed and normal retainers and my Essix retainer doesnt feel tighter when I put it on!?

Tmr at first hour Im calling my dentist but I am very worried and upset as I have been in braces for so long due to doctor mistakes.
I dont really fancy to find out that Essix are not what I should have and then go back to braces...

The bonded retainer should hold those teeth together. If a tooth has moved that the bonded retainer is bonded to, you need to have that checked as soon as possible as it may mean you've accidently knocked the bonding off. The clear retainer is more for keeping your back teeth in place as the bonded retainer can do the front ones it's bonded to. The clear retainer should still help with keeping those teeth together ... so it's strange that this has happened.

Talk to your ortho and hopefully this is something that can be easily corrected.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
