my down jaw is shifted to the side, and my doctor says its ok!

Hi, I want to share with you my worrying, as am about to finish my brases after one month. Although my artho said that I already finished.. but i was unhappy with my low jaw as it shifted to the right..he said it was ok because I have one tooth that was taken off before the braces, and that the teeth looks more shifted to the right. I told him i was not happy because one side looks perfect with the bite, but the other side looks above the down teeth =( he said to put a rubber band from my upper left teeth to the down right teeth. And this would push the shifted teeth inside.

am really worried from his treatment and I feel like he just want to finish my treatment ASAP without looking good, I would like to attach photos but I have no phone USB.

    an example photo:

Mimoty if you're not happy you need to consult with another ortho or two before your braces are removed to hear what they recommend.

Your jaw can't move if you're an adult ... only your teeth can. Plus some alignment issues can only be corrected with surgery, so it's always best to find out if what you what is doable.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I had the same concern when I had my braces taken off over a year ago. I had teeth removed before my braces as well. DONT WORRY..My doctor didnt tell me that retainers continuously move your teeth into place. My right side is just now looking as good as my left side, one year and a half after my braces were removed. So, stick with your retainers!
