Should I get a new retainer?

I lost my bottom retainer two weeks ago. My initial reason for getting braces were the top teeth (I had a pretty bad snaggle tooth), but my bottom teeth were also noticeably (at least to me) better after having had braces. It was almost three months after I had my braces taken off that I lost my retainer. My question now is whether I should replace that retainer and try to repair the damage done.

I just got a Stay Tray (Amazon.com: Stay Tray - Temporary Replacement for Lost Retainers: Beauty) today, and it seems to work pretty well. I think they'll do a satisfactory job of keeping my teeth the way they are. One issue I have, though, is that my two front teeth have gone astray already, in the short two weeks since I stopped wearing a retainer. If I got a replacement Hawley retainer, I might be able to nudge them back to their straight positions by pushing the wire in at certain points. As a side note, I did show my friend where they had moved and she said she couldn't really tell. You can't-- not unless you're looking at a top view of my teeth. Should I get a real replacement anyway? Not sure if it's worth the $150..

You need to contact your ortho to advise on this stuff. Remember your teeth will move for the rest of your life and temporary retainers will not do the necessary job to keep things aligned.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
