a cockroach ruined my retainer :(

i have had my braces for almost 4 years and now after taken em off my ortho gave me a clear plastic retainer for my upper teeth and a hawley one for the bottom and im happy with results but the problem is that i after i had my dinner i found a small cockroach layin down over my pastic retainer i was shocked ( i left my retainers in the kitchen) & sweard not to put it on until i clean it with a boling water and salt, though i know it would shrink but i was like a crazy person didnt know wat to do all wat i thought about is how to clean this shit anyway my retainer didnt fit me anymore & i had to wait for 4 days to have a new one out. i feel guilty now im fraid my teeth had moved during this time and all becuse of my fault.

im wondering now will my teeth shift in 4 days escpically da upper jaw ?
btw im 24 yrs and im so concerin about da shifting thing cuz i really sufferd 4 years wid da braces and i cant believe 4 days will end my happiness

Oh dear ... that wouldn't have been nice to see, but I'm sure you're capable of cleaning your retainers with cold water and liquid soap and then letting them dry thoroughly and even rinsing them in mouthwash after that ... to be certain the cockroach was all gone.

Your teeth may move a little in four days and if they do, expect it to be minimal and your retainers will quickly sort that out, due to them being made to the standard of your finished treatment ... so no problems!
