    Should the front wire of Hawley retainers touch the surface of front teeth tightly?

    I just wanna know that
    Should the front wire of
    Hawley retainers touch the
    surface of front teeth tightly or is it okay if it touches lightly or doesn't touch at all????

    Only gently, as it's to retain teeth not move them.
    After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
