Unhappy Essix retainer (HELP PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE)

    Hi everyone,

I got my Damon braces of two weeks ago and my ortho gave me my set of Essix Clear retainer,he also gave me a spare set.

So basically I've been wearing my retainer literally 24/7 as instructed, I wouldn't dare not wear them!!! Anyway tonight I just decided to try on the spare set and to my suprise / horror they felt really tight.

Has my retainer not being holding my teeth in place, why does the spare set feel so tight?

I'm sorry if I'm blowing it all out of proportion but the spare set is literally that, it's an exact copy of the original but yet it feels a lot tighter than than one I've been wearing the past two weeks.

The original set I have been wearing 24/7 for the past two weeks are comfortable to wear, to be honest after the first few days I became used to them and barely notice them in. When I take them off they slide right off without force, but putting on the spare set tonight I had to push them in and put force into taking them out.

I'm really really really worried here and would really be gratefull if someone could give me some feedback

    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?????

Maybe Im worrying about nothing, maybe it's just a case that my mouth has got used to the feel of the original set the past two weeks and when I suddenly put in the spare set they felt tight as they were brand new. I know when I put in the original set the day I got them they felt tight and sore.

I'm just worried that they feel so comfortable and almost feel like they should feel tight to be working?????????

The retainers may be slightly different.. or the ones are wearing have possibly expanded very slightly... I wouldn't worry about it... as long as your teeth are staying put, you are good to go
