Plz help - NON-TOXIC Retainer
Hi,
My sister, 15, recently got her first retainers, after her braces were taken out. They are the removeable,
acrylic kind. Unfortunately, the orthodontist did not tell us they had BPA in them. We need to be very non-toxic, so he recommended another material called Essix Ace, which, according to this website, is BPA and latex free. But I think these are the clear plastic ones that are placed over the teeth.
Essix ACE® Plastic - .040" (1mm) Thickness - 5" Square
(1) Does anyone have any info on a SAFE non-toxic retainers? I'm looking for the least amount of additives, plastic, etc.
(2) Do I have to contact different orthodontist labs to see who makes the safest, healthiest material?
Thank you.

Hi, I'd like to know about this too. I'm also allergic to latex and I get my braces off in 4 weeks. Will you send me a private message if anyone gives you any info?

I did once make a set of all metal retainers (stainless steel).
