braces off and very unhappy with bite

Hi my name is Kelly
I'm 15 years old and had my braces on for 2 years and a jaw expanded for many months as well as head gear. They told me my top Jaw was too small. I didn't take good care of my teeth during my treatment, because I was young and thought as long as I had braces on, they turned out straight. I wish I had someone talk to me about how the results would turn out because I am very unhappy with my mouth now and the way my teeth set. My teeth turned out straight and I was happy with that but my bite hits eachother on the left side and the right side is an underbite which is causing
my bottom teeth to become crooked. It's uncomfortable, makes me look akward, makes me talk with a bit of a lisp and is always on my mind it makes me very self concious and is almost making me depressed. My family does not have a lot of money to get braces on again & when I asked my ortho a month after my braces were off, they said it was the best they could do. I am interested in your suggestions and wonder about the surgery they told me about before my braces were on, would that work now? And could I get a jaw expanded or head gear put back on? Or would that move my teeth.
I am so sad about this, please help. I feel like my mom paid all that money for me to not even be happy about the result.

I wouldn't worry about it and I have a feeling you are probably just exaggerating a bit. Most people's teeth don't come out perfect after treatment iwth braces.

With that said, if you have an underbite and it is causing speech, chewing, pain in jaw, etc. than you will want to address it sooner or later...

I'm 31 and went through the same thing, but I have a true underbite all the way around... and now I have to have surgery.

But really, don't sweat it if your teeth are 75% the way you wanted them...

I wish your ortho would of been up front with you in the beginning though...

Thanks for the reply. I know it's not the end of the world, but all I want is my teeth to set normally. Also I heard on this site that the top hitting the bottom can start to make my teeth thin & weak over years and eventually fall out. Do you know how much the surgery would be in Canada? I have an appointment with my Ortho this month but they are not very helpful so I was wondering if anyone else knows what can be done when I've already had my braces off and need my top teeth more forward still, can anything be done without getting braces back on? (elastics, headgear again, etc?)

if you read my post, you'd know it wasn't worth 2 years with all this metal in my mouth.

I have an appointment with my Ortho in 9 days, I'm expecting the same answers " this is the best we could do "
but i'm not accepting it. I was thinking that since my bottom braces are going crooked due to my teeth clashing/underbite, they could put the bottom braces back on then use elastics like crazy to get the bite fixed. Would that work?
