Questionable About Getting My Braces Off

I am supposed to get my braces off next month, but I still have several gaps in my teeth. My orthodontist said I would be getting an invisalign retainer. Will that going to help clear up the gaps?

I am a bit hesitant to answers this because retainers are meant to retain the position of your teeth when the had braces on. It means that it is just a follow-up and not meant to treat the gaps. If you have the means please consult another orthodontist because as far as I know the braces should have fixed the gaps already.
