I had my top canine tooth exposed over three years ago. 9 months ago i decided to get braces, once braces had been applied -after 4 weeks my baby tooth was removed. My orthodontist waited another 4 weeks before attaching elastic string to the canine to start manoeuvring it into the position of where my baby tooth was. It has been close to mine months since the process had started to move my adult canine into position. I want to know if there is anyone who has had similar work done and how long it has taken for the adult tooth to correct it’s position and braces to be removed permanently? All my teeth are straight and in perfect condition(you could imagine how upset i am to have braces for 1 tooth), i am 24years of age- My orthodontist has recommended 6-18 months. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
