Well, before braces i had lip closure, and right now when i sleep or EAT i am finding it hard to keep my lips closed. no doubt when my braces are off or my teeth move backward to close gaps, my lips will close again.
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how much lip closure we get after our braces are removed? I am able to close my lips together, but when I relax my lips they do not touch. I was wondering if anyone had any similiar issues or has an idea of how much closure we gain when the braces are removed. Should I be worried?
Thanks.

Hey NarcoAngel,
Thanks for the reply and I apologize for the late reply back I have been super busy at work and have not been able to visit this website as often as I would have liked. Anyway, my concern is because I did not have any teeth removed so I did not have any gaps to close and now when I am close to the end I find that while my lips are relaxed they do not fully close. I just hope that after my brackets are removed I am able to close my lips when they are relaxed. Good luck with your treatment NarcoAngel.
I would think your lips will tighten with practice, like any other muscle.
