It has been 7 years

Since I got my braces off and I really have no regrets of ever having got the braces. I now have a perfect smile that people comment on reguarly and I appreciate the comments because it was not easy to get this smile. The thing I hated the most was the soreness after tightening and having to eat Jell-O and pudding for a week everytime.

I know how you feel. It's been some 10 years for myself. It's been great. It's the bad memories that seem to stick out, isnt' it.. all the pain and the liquid food.

My girlfriend at the time also had braces and they used to get interlock with each other while making out. We always had to have some kind of equipment nearby to pull us apart. lol. kidding, I'm just being silly.

Anyways, how about a picture of that perfect smile? Let it be an inspiration for everybody here

I recently had my braces removed and I couldn’t be happier. Now I have to deal with wearing my retainer. Well at least my mouth full of metal is gone. Now I have nice straight teeth. I am glad I went through this long and enduring process.

As I got my braces removed only last week I know how it feels like once you’re off the metal from your mouth. I got my perfect smile as I imagined but had to wear retainers for 8 months. Before braces I always used to hide my smile with hands but now I'm egger to show off my new smile to every body

I had braces for the first time about 12 years ago and the one I thing I hated was when they would trim the wires back, one time the wire got stuck in my cheek and my orthodontist was on vacation. I had to deal with that for a whole week, I don't think I will ever forget the pain.

Samantha the most important role you can play in your treatment is making sure you follow all instructions given by your orthodontist. Also make sure your oral hygiene is A1. After that it's about your teeth and how they move.

Some people find their teeth move quickly and other's not so quick. Some people have problems that take longer to fix than others. There are many reasons why treatment still goes longer for some than others. For me it's a combination of my teeth moving quickly in the early months and now slowing down to a crawl, plus my orthodontic team having to change my treatment plan due to issues developing during treatment. The one thing I know for sure is, that one day soom my treatment will be over ... and so will yours. Until then, it's about getting on with life and never letting something as temporary as having braces affect that.

Good luck with your treatment being over soon!
