Damon system

I was told by an orthodontist I saw recently that my teeth had some mild crowding but that he was dubious about my getting braces because my teeth were stable and he didn't want to open a "pandora's box" by possibly causing them to loosen with braces. He did recommend that if I wanted to consider Invisalign that I consult with another orthodontist, as the person I saw did not offer them.

I'm wondering about his "pandora's box" statement; also whether the Damon System (which he also doesn't offer ) might be preferable due to the lighter forces.

Thanks
