Wow, they don't hurt at all

I'm so suprised. All I feel so far is a little bit of tension. No more than a retainer would if it was put in after a couple days.

Right now they've got expansion wires in to make my mouth a little wider. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next.

    Sig test

Well the system is very interesting so far. They've got me on "palette expander" wires that are forcing my teeth open. I guess that's because they can't use the normal ones after 16 or so. I just wish the first ortho had half a brain and could've done it right then. Oh well.

Everyone's experience with braces is unique, and unfortunately some of us experience more discomfort than do others.

A few tips that tend to help:
    • Stay hydrated to minimise chafing
    • Use wax if you start to develop any sores
    • Do try to chew, as doing so helps make any pain from tooth movement go away faster
    • Don't be ashamed of using a pain reliever if you feel the need
