Talking Separators for Damon System Braces

I've been wearing the Damon Braces for approximately a month now and I just went in to get Separators placed on all corners of my mouth. The ortho's assistant put 2 baby rubber bands on my left bottom and metal ones everywhere else. My right side feels a lil loose because I bite down. I checked the mirror and it shows that I can actually move it if I push it a lil. Should I go back and get this re-fitted? Everyone I know who got braces says that it's supposed to hurt so much that I'd only be able eat baby food. They also didn't spend the pretty price of the Damon System, so I'm not sure if the separators are supposed to be like this. Any suggestions, comments, random outbursts (lol) will be helpful! I'm also new to this site so I'm taking baby steps to figure things out.

Spacers are spacers, no matter what type of brackets you have. Many people do report that they're uncomfortable, but since you've had an archwire on for a month, many of your teeth will already be loosening, so for you it should be a little easier.

I doubt you should be concerned about one side appearing loose, as hopefully that means the gap is already suitable for the molar band. If you're worried, the best person to contact is your ortho's office.

    Good luck with your treatment!

Thanks Sunny! You're awesome! I've been doing a lot of browsing and read a lot of your replies to folks. I'm glad I ran into this site. One more question. In the middle of the night last night, one of my rubber bands (spacers) came off. I guess the next best thing is to call ortho huh? lol

Hope you've called your ortho Mylan! It may mean that the gap is large enough and you don't need that spacer any more ... or your ortho may want to put one back incase the space closes before he puts your molar bands on.

    Good luck!
