Strange aligning method w/pictures

Hi All,
New member here. My orthodontist is using a wired method to move one of my teeth to the alignment with other.

She wrapped a wire around my unaligned tooth and sort of wrapped it around the main wire on the braces. Please take a look at the picture and let me know:

if this method will move my tooth? (i dont feel any pain)
will it cause cavities/stainin on the tooth?

Your ortho is not doing anything unusual, in fact this is a great way to move a tooth to the archwire. It's important not to put too much pressure on teeth, and this type if 'wrapping' of the tooth, gives it support, while moving the tooth to join the others. Sometimes the ortho may just wrap the wire around the bracket and then to the archwire. The way used often depends on what the ortho prefers and the amount and type of movement needed by the tooth that's out of alignment.
