I saw someone who had on Damon Braces - the all metal ones and they were shiny silver metal. Are all metal Damon Braces this shiny? Or it is because she keeps her braces clean? Are the traditional silver braces shiny? I am trying to decide between the two because I would like to have shiny braces, too.
well i got mine yesterday, and they sure are shiny. with the damon system, you can't get colors apparently unless you're using them to do something special like closing gaps.
Stainless brackets are made mostly from the same product and it's finish is shiny as apposed to flat. Often how shiny will depend on how new and how good the persons oral hygiene is.
Please don't chose a bracket by how it looks ... instead choose an ortho by the amount of skill and how well you can communicate with her/him.
... plus remember ... brackets don't move teeth ... they're just bonded to your teeth!
Good luck!![]()
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
Like Sunny Said Im pretty sure all metal brackets are shiny. Mine were so shiny it kind of shocked me. I wasnt prepared for that but I have gotten used to itSo go with the treatment you prefer best with an ortho you like.
I just got mine on yesterday. I got the Damon 3 on my upper teeth (half clear, half silver) and the Damon 3 MX on my lower (all silver). I must say the upper brackets have a nicer shade of silver. They seem to be lighter in color than the lower ones.
But, I agree - go with an ortho you trust and has experience, that is the most important part.
I have Damon 3, silver upper and lower and they do shine but I was surprised none of my friends noticed until they had hung around me the entire day, so nothing to worry about. I am not sure which ones they are exactly I was just told damon 3 silvers because they can reverse them or something, but they did have an option for some damon that were more of a matte finish but the ortho preferred the silvers.
