About when did you see changes?

Just curious for those (I have the Damon System 3) who have them, about when did you start to see changes in the structure of you teeth ...so anxious to see the changes even though I have a LONG way to see them...

I saw a change a little over a month after I got mine on. Im pretty sure my smile is "wider", if that makes any sense.
Oh and I acquired a gap between 2 of my teeth after about 3 weeks, weird lol

I dont have damon but it was about a month for me as well. The changes happen to subtle it makes it hard to notice right away I think. Its slow and steady

The type of brackets you have does not affect how your teeth move, so it won't affect when you see change.

The people who see change quickest are the people who have the most alignment issues. Bite changes take the longest to see.

Good luck with seeing change soon!

I got my braces on 4 days ago and I could swear that the bottom teeth in the front (were crooked before braces) are straighter post-braces.

Near the end of the first month I noticed some slight changes, now over 3 months in the difference is quite staggering.

It is so unbelieveable but I would say within the week. And she has even more now 2 months later, rotation of teeth now straightening as well as a wider smile. Alignment and midlines still off but in total quite amazing.
And so tired of hearing about brackets not moving teeth ....but they do since they are attached to archwire which pulls and moves the tooth. So SL brackets are different....and do move teeth quicker proven fact and in recent ortho journal. Damon are SL so you could see movement soon. But it depends on your individual case.
So happy braces journey and good luck!

It was several weeks for me. If you go into my blog, you can see pics. I posted pics a while ago of my monthly progress from the start through month 11 (up to month 13 now!)

    space in teeth

I was wondering- is it normal to develop spaces or gaps during treatment? I have recently developed a large gap in my top teeth that was not previously there! I Hope this is just temporary!

    Hi Jazzycat,
I also developed a gap in my lower teeth that wasn't there pre-braces. I asked my ortho last time I was in for an adjustment about it and he told me that he liked seeing gaps. He said that when a person develops gaps to him means that there is enough space and that there is no need to pull teeth to make space. He said that he will play with my gap and create more space somewhere else where it might be needed or close it out completely.

Hey jazzy, i also developed a "surprise" gap, even where teeth were crowded. I was also told that he will distribute it where it is needed, as crowding is my problem. Later on in your treatment you may get the powerchains to pull it all together. Sometimes its scary to see where all our teeth move before they are in the spot our orthos want them to be.

I saw some change in the first 8 weeks, but not as much as I expected. Then they upgraded me to a 1.5 wire (apparently, still too much rotation to move to the next wire, so they gave me an in between one). Within days the really rotated tooth on the top is almost in line with the rest of the teeth. Weird!

Rotating teeth can take quite some effort by the archwire and it's great that your tooth has now achieved some of it's movement.

Good luck with the rest of your treatment!

I started seeing a difference after about 1 month. Just had my 6 months ortho check yesterday and I got to see a picture of the first day my braces were put on and WOW what a difference. Im so pleased. I also have the Damon 3's on. How long have you had yours for and how many months did the dentist predict you would have them for?

It sounds silly but I've started to see a little difference and I've only had mine on for a week.

I don't think it's silly to have seen a difference so quickly hanabee
I just got mine on yesterday and I am seriously seeing some differences on my lower teeth.
My midline was just a slight bit off before braces and I have seen it shift to the right already.
I also had a BIT of an overlap in my teeth but not much, and now my teeth almost sit right on top of each other :X
I am hoping that everything is moving as planned because there are some definite changes and it happened so quickly!

    Estimated time: 24 months

I also have some changes, already, and I have only had the braces on for four days! One of my bottom teeth no longer has ANY room to fit floss in between it and another, which must mean that the tooth has started to turn/straighten some! I also see some change with a tooth that is pushed back, it too is starting to shift, and come forward! I'm so excited!!

I saw changes after about two to three months. Minor ones though. Now I'm working on alignment and honestly, my teeth started feeling the pressure over the weekend for three days and now my bite is aligned. Very strange but it moved fast for me. i've been waiting for that last 1 mm for a long time and it finally happen. that's what my ortho said he's waiting for at my last appointment. maybe I am ready three months early. finger crossed.
