Arch wire feels loose after 10 days

I got my lotus/damon brackets on the 21st with the 1st 016 arch wire.

The archwire felt pretty tight and my teeth were sore for a few days. But I can see a little bit of movement on some of my front teeth. This morning I woke up (10 days later) and everything in my mouth feels a little looser. There is some slack in the archwires.

I've checked all of the brackets 3-4 times today, especially the ones in the back that secure the wire in place. Everything is holding on tight and is in the brackets properly. Nothings broken or out of place.

Is this normal? Is it just done moving my teeth?

Some teeth will become lose as they start to move. Don't panic! It's normal and when they get to their proper spot they will become more solid. It just depends on how much your teeth need to move and how far. My teeth were loose the first couple weeks, but now (3 months later) they are very solid and not loose at all!

I definitely noticed it tonight. As I was flossing, 2 of my teeth that were fairly impossible to get floss into without some force, I was able to floss much easier. The teeth and brackets feel solid, it's just that the archwire has sack in it.

I even had Digiorno pizza for dinner tonight and that wasn't a problem.

I don't believe the archwire should have slack in it. It should be fairly tight as that is what is causing your teeth to move. If you don't think something feels right I would call your orthodontist so he/she can take a look at it. I've never experienced my archwire being "loose" before.

Sorry I guess I mis-read your original post. I thought you said your teeth were loose, not your archwire.

It might be that the arch wire has popped out of one or more brackets somewhere. This happened to me and caused the wire to slacken. Have a good look at every bracket and make sure the arch wire is in it and not just on top or just below it. (It can be easy to miss if you don't look closely.)
Bonded retainers fitted upper and lower & braces removed at 19 months 2 weeks.

    Braces were:

    In-Ovation C on the top
    Damon on the bottom

It's not much slack. I think I made it sound worse than it is. But I have 2 turned teeth, and I feel like the wire is a little looser there than it was last week. But I think that's just from some of my teeth shifting already.

I've inspected all the brackets about 6 times now. And I've flossed 3-4 times too in the last few days. Haven't found a broken bracket, or unclamped wire anywhere. trust me, it freaked me out when I first felt it, beucase randomly monday morning my mouth felt weird too, like my cheeks had changed shaape on the inside to touch the brackets less. so i kept checking with a mirror.

Sounds like the wire is doing its job You will notice a lot of changes in the first few weeks!
