    Question about wire.

My son is 8 years old and orth just recommended phase 1 braces on top. My question is he has 2 areas of his mouth where baby teeth fell out and adults have not come in yet. how does that wire look when its over an area with no teeth? Obviously you cant put a bracket in that area so do they still just run the wire across to the next tooth? Thanks for any info. p.s the ortho said he will be using damon system but i did some research when i got home and saw diffrent kinds which one do you think would be best for an 8 yr old.

Hi and welcome to this forum!

You need to discuss this with your son's orthodontist, as this is the person who is planning your son's treatment.

Where the archwire 'stretches' naked over gaps, we put tubing over the wire, to improve comfort for the wearer.

I hope your son's treatment goes well!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
