Damon clear & Damon Q, no archwire on both last teeth

I just had Damon clear on my social 6 & Damon Q on the rest of my upper teeth 3 days ago. Lower braces will be put on in 8 weeks.

I'm just wondering why they didn't put spacers first or molar bands like what i commonly hear or read. The archwire ends on my 2nd to the last teeth, which leaves my 2 back teeth lonely & alone. Lol.

Is this common with the Damon system? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Dye bucual molar brackets verses the use of molar bands has nothing to do with the brand of brackets, but is to do with orthodontist preference.

Where I work we haven't used spacers or molar bands for quite a few years and this is becoming the more commonly accepted practice.

Your ortho may be planning to put buccal molar brackets on one or both of you molars later in your treatment, or they may not be needing treatment.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

Sunny, I never heared of buccal molar brackets...thank you for the info, i look up some pictures in the internet, mine looks like it. Has a tube for archwire & a hook In case it's needed for elastics or power chain.

I had no idea about braces when my ortho put them on. I didn't ask questions too. Just decided to read about it when i got home that day...I have a few ideas now & i'll make sure to communicate better with my ortho the next time i visit
    him.

    Thank you so much

Sunny, what does your practice do if buccal brackets fail to adhere to the tooth say, for example, where a crown or heavily filled tooth is involved?

And congratulations on being debanded, btw, hope you're enjoying the freedom.
