About to get Damon braces...

I'm about to get Damon braces put on in a few weeks with the ceramic fronts - I'm actually a little nervous.

Do you think this will affect me socially at all?

Having braces will only affect you socially if you let them. Braces are temporary and something you choose to have, so be positive and remember how lucky you are to be able to have orthdontic treatment!

Hey, another question... All of this has been running through my head for the past 3 days! Do you know how braces can affect my dating life/intimacy with significant other? I'm just really scared if I'm going to have to go into hiding for 2~ years...

... as I posted above ... having braces will only affect your dating life/intimacy with significant other ... if you let it. Many millions of sexually active people have braces!

lol. How old are you?

I could be crass and make jokes about the mechanics of braces and intimacy, but it's too early in the morning.

I'm 25 and I've had full metal (no ceramics or clears) braces for 3 months. No one cares. It hasn't stopped girls from talking to me, and most of them say that it's impressive that I'm doing something like this to improve myself as an adult.

Only you can stop forest fires...or make yourself feel bad.

I had braces taken off about 18 years ago...I'm 34 now. I can honestly say that these Damon Braces are the best things going, and I have all kinds of stuff going on with the bite plates and elastics to fix my crossbite. I haven't had any pain in the 6 months I've had these on and most people don't even realize I'm wearing the Damon Clear until they're either up close or I really smile. I'm a sales rep and was worried people would find me creepy, but everyone is really supportive. Let's face it, if they have nice teeth, they've probably had braces and if their teeth are jacked...how can they poke fun. I can't speak to your dating scene, but my wife doesn't care one bit. You eventually forget that you even have these things on. I wish I did this 5 years ago...
