    Damon 3

Hi, this forum looks awesome !
I am getting Damon braces soon, and I think I am getting Damon 3. After all, I am 13. I'm supposed to embrace being a metal-mouth! Damon Clear sounds nice but they seem a little big for me, as Damon 3's are part clear already and super small!
I've heard that Damon 3's have little colored dots on them. Is it true? They actually sound kind of cool to me.

P.S.~ Am I making the right decision with Damon 3 over Damon Clear? If you can, can I see a pic?

    Cool

It feels a bit weird answering my own question, but I found an answer! Since the question had some views I thought I may as well share.
    In this blog,
Damon 3 Braces: Day 2 « A Vampire wanting to become Human
I found a pic with little colours on the end of the Damon 3 brackets. As I read the caption on Day 2, it said "I think the different colours on the brackets stand for sizes."
Problem solved! haha I found this blog helpful for just learning about the experience too.

Hi and welcome to this forum Paramore!

It's good you found that answer. The colours are there for the orthodontist to indicate which tooth they get put on and will only last for one or two brushes.

The size of the brackets is almost the same, so you're best to chose what you'd prefer. Due to the damon being a self ligating bracketing, they're slightly higher off the tooth than most brackets, but I'm sure you'll adjust quickly.

The most important things are too keep yourself well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Use wax generously on any brackets that rub and keep them covered when you're eating ... only removing the wax when you brush.

If your mouth gets sore, a great way to help it is to rinse with warm salt water 5+ times a day. Warm salt water is soothing and healing.

Good luck with your treatment going smoothly.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
