is it normal that during the first month of braces that nothing "special" is put on? like ya'll say that it is with the skill of the ortho and the archwire that move teeth. and these braces don't seem to take much skill to put in. anyways... i can't put glide floss between a couple teeth that have the bands around them. is that normal?

The first 12 weeks I had braces I had molar build-up and just a wire. Nothing really considered "special" IMO... I think the wire is working on aligning your teeth correctly then you will get all the other stuff like rubber bands, hooks, power chains, etc.

Your teeth get really tight when you first have braces so I think it's normal you can't put floss in between some of them. That happened to me and I was worried it would be like that for a while. But I was able to floss in between them after a few days.
